Calling All Sports Fans

I am a big sports fan.  Football, baseball, basketball, you name it, I love sports.  My family and I have spent many afternoons watching games, and we can’t help but chuckle at some of the comments sportscasters make.

One of our favorite conversations happens more often that you might believe.  One sportscaster will invariably ask another, “What do the Titans need to do to win today?”  The answer, of course, is SCORE MORE POINTS!

Simple enough, right?  Sure, if you’re watching.  But when you’re on the field, it doesn’t seem quite so obvious.  Campaigns are a lot like that.

I enjoy campaigning for Governor even more than I enjoy watching my favorite team because, to me, campaigning means bringing together the very best people, working toward a common goal and knowing that you’re in it together -- especially after the win.

For any governor to be successful, she needs great team players.  That’s where you come in.  Your vote, your support, your commitment to excellence and improving Tennessee is what will win this race.  You have joined me at rallies and house parties, followed me on Twitter and on my Facebook page.  You’ve made invaluable suggestions, asked vitally important questions and shared innovative ideas.  And we’ve only just begun!

I appreciate the encouragement and support you’ve already given me.  I don’t take any of it, not one cent or one comment, for granted.  But remember, at the end of the day, it’s the number of votes that count.
